My cat has a disgusting problem. He does not clean his rear end after
going number
two. After awhile it builds up,
and I've tried to clean it a few times but failed because it's really a
two-person
job. And who wants to help me with
that?
No one.

Last week it got so bad that my cat couldn't even sit down. It stunk up
my whole
apartment. I took him to a dog
grooming place, and they took care of it for $55. I am a starving
student and can't
afford to have this happen every
few weeks.
The part I don't understand is that this only started happening four
months after I
adopted the cat; the first four
months he was fine.

If you have any suggestions, I would GREATLY appreciate it! Thanks!!!!

If the cat is long-haired, then the solution might simply be to keep
the rear area hair trimmed so the poo doesn't get stuck there. Usually
a cat will groom, so it may just be that the cat "can't" get it out of
the hair, so less hair might turn it into a manageable problem. If
it's a short-haired cat, then I dunno what to tell you....
